Victory’s COVID-19 Actions

As of March 30, 2020

Dear Victory Family & Victory Athletic Center Users,

I have been closely monitoring CUSD, state, and the local governments’ response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) as well as having discussions with the San Juan Capistrano Community Services. Here is some recent information posted by CUSD.

…CUSD is implementing the following through Friday, May 1, at which time we will evaluate events and gatherings moving forward:

+ All field trips and science camps are postponed. The District is looking into reimbursement options and will work with school sites as necessary.
+ All non-essential small and large gatherings, meetings, events, assemblies, school open houses, performances, festivals, carnivals, and other activities will be postponed.
+ All athletic events and competitions are cancelled or postponed. Practice will continue without spectators.

Please note that mandatory and self-quarantine guidelines have not changed. For information related to these guidelines and travel restrictions, please visit the CDC website.

Based on the highlighted excerpts and in the interest of caution, I have decided to suspend all VAC sporting activities effective immediately. This includes suspension of all practices, scrimmages, games, and team meetings until further notice.

The situation is seemingly changing every hour, but we will continue to err on the side of caution with what is best for our kids and our community at the forefront of all decisions.

To be clear, this is a delay of the beginning of our spring season, and we hope that we will be able to resume normal sporting activities in the near future. We will communicate again on April 15 (or with any information as it becomes available to us) and try and provide as much notice as possible before play resumes.

Thank you and we ask for your patience as we navigate this uncharted territory together.
